Checking an Online Authorization Request

Updated on

Checking an a student's online authorization request is easy! Just follow this simple guide!

Step 1: Search the student in the TD People tab and bring up their profile.

Step 2: Click on their name and select the  "Tickets" tab to see past tickets and find the "Online Authorization (Requested by Student)" form.

Step 3: Select the form under the "Title" column to see the details of their request.

Step 4: If the status of the ticket is ‘In Process’ that means that we are waiting for a response from Advising or the Department. (You can find who we are waiting on in the ticket feed.)

Step 5: To see if a student has been authorized in the BYUI system to add the course, check the Feed on their Course Authorization ticket. (Always read the comments in the Feed at the bottom of the ticket. They are VITAL in explaining what is happening with the ticket and the student's situation. Comments/actions in the Feed are listed with the newest comments at the top.)

  • If the student has been authorized to add the course, you will see an email with the following information:

  • If it only says that it was "Approved", but does not have the email above, then the process is not finished yet. The approved authorization will go into a queue and the student will receive an email within 2 business days.

Congratulations! You've helped the student check their online course authorization!
