Dropping / Withdrawing from a Class

(For BYU-Pathway Online students, please refer to the BYU-Pathway Help Center for any questions about registration -- including dropping/withdrawing from courses.)

 

NOTE: Before dropping any courses, make sure you are aware of Upcoming Dates & Deadlines for the semester.

  • The date a course (or all courses) is dropped could affect your tuition refund amount, financial aid, housing, etc. See Dropping Classes or Leaving School. For further questions, please contact BYU-Idaho at (208) 496-1411.

For questions about dropping or withdrawing from a class, please do the following:

Step 1: Log in to your BYU-Idaho Account.

Step 2: Hover your mouse over the Registration button.

Step 3: Click on "Add/Drop Courses"

Step 4: Click Add/Drop Course once again. If a block class click the drop down to select the term.

Step 5: Scroll down to the bottom to where you can see your courses.

  • Check the box next to each class you would like to drop.
  • Click "Drop Selected Courses".

I think it would be helpful to add a step in this tutorial to make sure that the current semester is selected. For some reason a different semester was automatically selected in my course registration and I couldn't see my classes to drop them. Luckily I realized that and I was able to figure it out. But it did frustrate me until I noticed it.
