Registering for BYUI 101

Updated on

BYUI101 is a required course for all new students to help them have a successful and enjoyable first semester at BYU-Idaho! Created with input from current students, it focuses on the BYUI experience rather than general college success and provides valuable information to help new students thrive. To register, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Login to my.byui.edu with your BYUI credentials. Hover over the "Registration Links" tab and click "Add/Drop Courses."

Step 2: Once you open the registration portal, you should see the following blue banner. Before adding any other courses, you will need to add BYUI 101. Click on 'BYUI 101' or type 'BYUI 101' in the course code field. Different sections of BYUI 101 will show.

Step 3: Under the 'Add' column, select the class section you would like to register for. Once you have successfully added the course, the blue banner will disappear and you will be able to register for other courses.

DAY sections will have two in-person meeting patterns. You are required to attend both.

Blended sections will have one in-person meeting pattern for the group gathering. The rest of the coursework will be covered online.

*Note: There are specific sections for non-traditional students (26 or older) labeled with a blue note.

If you are unable to register or are facing difficulties adding the class, call (208) 496-1411 or email [email protected] for assistance.

Swapping Sections

Please note that you may not drop or withdraw from BYUI 101 unless you choose to withdraw from the semester completely. However, you will be able to drop or withdraw from other courses without dropping or withdrawing from BYUI 101.

If you would like to switch sections of BYUI 101, scroll down to your list of registered classes at the bottom of the registration portal. By clicking 'Swap' you will be taken to a page of open BYUI 101 sections where you can select your new section.

*Note: If you have a registration hold you will not be able to swap sections. Additionally, eight days after the first class meeting, you will no longer be allowed to swap your course without professor approval.

Congratulations on registering for BYUI 101! We're excited to welcome you to BYU-Idaho!
