This article explains how you can add a parent to view specific information on myBYUI. Adding a parent to your myBYUI will only give them access to view grades, class schedule, finances, and general campus activity information if you let them. Information and widgets can be changed in your account settings later.
1. Go to my.byui.edu/dashboard and sign into your account.
2. Search "Parent Portal Info" in the search bar and click on "Add Parents or Family to myBYUI".
3. This page will give you general information about the process and the information that parents can see within their portal. When you are ready to add a parent, scroll down to the "Get Started Here" widget and click get started.
4. Fill out your parents First and Last name and their email address and click done. It will then give you the option to add another parent or set permissions. After you create the profile, click on "Set Permissions."
Note: Once you create the parent profile, you and your parent will receive a confirmation email. The parent email will have instructions on setting a password for their login. Check the Accessing the myBYUI Parent Portal step guide to see how parents can continue to set up their accounts.
5. This will bring you to the Delegated Access settings within your Student Account Settings. Within this setting, you can toggle which data you want your parent to see in their portal.
6. Choose which widgets you want your parent to see and save the changes.
Congratulations! You have successfully added your parent.
