Any new or incoming student with less than 15 credits of transfer work should have a registration hold on their registration portal that prevents them from registering for other classes until BYUI 101 is registered for. Step 1:
A student that has the BYUI 101 hold will see 2 button options when they go to register. Button one is ‘BYUI 101’ and button two is ‘BYUI 101 Freshman Connect Bundle’
Step 2:
Selecting ‘BYUI 101’ will bring up individual sections of BYUI 101. There will be two meeting patterns to review and they can add this course.
Step 3:
Selecting ‘BYUI 101 Freshman Connect Bundle’ will bring up the bundle options which all will include one section of BYUI 101, BYUI 150-154, and a religion course. Students will select which bundle they would like and it will register them for all three courses in one action.
Step 4:
Once the student has added a bundle of classes, they will see a yellow banner confirming their registration. If this banner does not appear, the courses have not been added.
Swap Options:
Once they are registered, in their registered courses they will see two swap options. The ‘Swap’ option will allow them to swap their bundle for an individual section of BYUI 101 or swap an individual section. The ‘Swap Set’ option will allow them to swap the bundle that they are registered in or swap from an individual section to a bundle of courses
If the Student chooses to 'Swap:
If they choose ‘Swap’ they will only see the individual sections that are available to register in.
The system will simultaneously drop all 3 sections from the bundle and add the individual section of BYUI 101
NOTE:
If the student registers in a bundle, they cannot drop or withdraw from any courses in the bundle without dropping all 3. They will still be required to be in a section of BYUI 101
When the bundle is dropped, the registration portal will prompt the student to add a different section of BYUI 101, since students have to be registered for this class before any others.
